Acacia dinkshot II
The Dinkshot II from Acacia comes in 3 colorways White (pictured), Lime, and Pink. One of the first things you notice when put the shoe on is the immediate room your toes have due to the wide toe box. If you have a wide foot you can take ease in knowing these shoes will fit comfortably with a cushioned sock or even an added insole. If your foot is “normal” width and you don’t wear cushioned athletic socks, I would consider going a half size down. Alot of this depends on how you like your performance shoes to fit. That wider toe box also provides a bit more protection from supination. If you are super active on the court or play singles, any support that keeps you from rolling onto the outer edge of your foot is much appreciated.
From the pictures you can see there is generous padding in the heel and ankle area. Even the tongue has decent padding in it. The insole has 2 components. A cushioned breathable honeycomb insole that runs the full length of the foot and what looks like a memory foam component that tapers from the heel and ends just at the beginning of the midfoot. The midsole utilizes ARK-Technology EVA foam for elevation and structure.
Bullet proof outsoles!!! Ok, not bullet proof but Acacia did incorporate kevlar drag guards in the outsoles. Can’t wait to put the durability to the test. They are non-marking soles so you are safe to play indoors with them as well. KEVLAR® is a synthetic fiber known for its high strength and durability.
Between the insole, EVA foam midsole, and the wide toe box, you are ultimately left with a very comfortable shoe.
Let’s talk style and packaging. The box is a standard cardboard box which is totally acceptable as these are not special releases or signature shoes. As you saw in the first photo they come with another set of laces and the mini acacia branded pickleball that can be used as a keychain or for focus drills. These add on items, although small, do make a difference. They are both functional and fun additions, which we appreciate. As far as the design is concerned they did a great job of mixing materials and textures on this shoe. The minimal metallic silver and neon lime hits are well placed. Personally, I like all of the patterns minus the swirls around the ankle and heel. I would have done a pattern that compliments other parts of the shoe. But style design changes are easy to implement on future releases. What they have accomplished from a material, structure, durability, comfort, and performance perspective seems to be very on point.
